About Dicta

Health, explained simply – with the camera inside the body.

What is Dicta?

Dicta makes short, AI-produced videos that explain common health questions – for patients and parents. Why don't you always need antibiotics? When is a fever dangerous? All content is reviewed by a Norwegian GP. The videos are general health information and not a substitute for medical advice. In an emergency, contact your local emergency services.

The name means «what is said». The speech bubble above the i in the logo stands for that: knowledge told by a doctor.

Who is behind it?

The films are reviewed by a Norwegian GP. The doctor is anonymous because Dicta is about the knowledge, not about a person. The doctor offers no health services through Dicta.

How we make a film

  1. Topic and script. The script is written with the help of AI and checked against Norwegian medical sources.
  2. The GP reviews the script.
  3. The voice is made with AI.
  4. The images are made with AI. Only fictional people – never real patients.
  5. The video clips are made with AI.
  6. The film is edited with captions, «Made with AI», «Simplified illustration – not to scale» and an end card.
  7. The GP reviews the finished film. The date and version are logged and shown with the film.

Questions

Can I ask about my own health?

No. We cannot give advice about your situation. Contact your doctor. In Norway: out-of-hours doctor (legevakt) 116 117, and 113 if life is at risk. Elsewhere: call your local emergency number.

Who is the doctor?

A Norwegian GP reviews the films and is also the publisher of the website. We put the content before the person, and explain how the content is reviewed instead.

Why do you use AI?

AI makes it possible to show what happens inside the body in a way that is hard to film. All medical content is reviewed by a GP before it is published.

Is this advertising?

No. Dicta has no ads, sponsors or income, and never names medicines.

Why both Norwegian and English?

The images are the same, so an English version costs little to make. That way more people can benefit from the films.

Can I show the films in teaching?

Yes. You are welcome to show the films in teaching and share links to them. Please do not download, edit or re-upload them without asking us. © Dicta. All rights reserved.
